Renaissance (1485 - 1660 CE): Poetry

The exact dates of the Renaissance period can differ from one scholar to the next, but generally took place during from the late 15th to the early 17th century.  The sub-periods include: Early Tudor (1485-1558), Elizabethan (1558-1603), Jacobean (1603-1625), Caroline (1625-1649), & the Commwealth (1949-1660).  Literature of the Renaissance typically appeared in the poem and drama form.  Authors from this period, are often association with the rediscovery of the classics by the Greeks and Romans.  Well known writers of this period include, but not limited to, Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, Sir Walter Raleigh, Edmund Spenser, and John Milton (http://www.online-literature.com/periods/renaissance.php).  Below are some Website that may help you in your research.
