This page features free resources accessible to most veterinarians. Use these tools to keep up with advancements in the field of veterinary science and to research therapies, pathologies, techniques and more.

Remember: The College of Veterinary Medicine Library at the Wise Center on the Starkville campus of Mississippi State University is open to the public. While at the CVM Library, you may use our print journals and books or bring your own laptop to access the same via the MSU guest our free wifi. Free Resources

Search for Journal Articles on a Topic

PubMed
World's largest medical database, with records to articles back to the 1940s and beyond. Good coverage of both human and animal medicine, physiology and related fields.
- You can use the Free Full Text filter on the left to exclude results that don't have free access to the full article.
- Using the other filters (except for Year and Language) will exclude results that do not have Medical Subject Headings (MeSH). Depending on your topic, this could exclude up to a third of the relevant results.
- MSU faculty, staff, and students should use the other links to PubMed in this guide in order to have the best access to the library's subscribed journals.
- The National Library of Medicine offers numerous PubMed tutorials.

Borrow Books from the MSU CVM Library

Mississippi Library Partnership
If you have borrowing privileges at one of these libraries in North Mississippi, you can borrow print books from the MSU CVM Library and have them sent right to your local branch for free! Just use your local library catalog as usual, and click the "Place Hold" link to the left of the book you're interested in.
