Parody

The purpose of a parody is to joke, ridicule or satirize the original. A parody imitates or makes fun of an original artistic work, author, or genre. Typically, this is done in a humorously, exaggerated imitation (Oxford Dictionary). In order to successfully create a parody, the original must be easily recognizable to ensure the viewer can appreciate the jest.
