Mendeley

This guide provides on overview of how to use Mendeley to create a personal database of references that can be inserted into documents created with Word.

Mendeley Institutional Edition Now Available!

Mendeley is a reference manager that allows you to create a personal database of references related to your research, and it allows you to insert citations into Word using any one of hundreds of citation styles. If you are collaborating with other researchers, Mendeley allows you to share references.

As of 5/28/2019, Mendeley has indicated the following compatibility issues that may affect a number of users. For complete information on supported operating systems, web browsers, and word processors, see this page from Mendeley Support

  • "At the moment Mendeley Desktop isn't supported in Mac OS 10.14 (Mojave)," and
  • "[t]he Mendeley Desktop Word plugin is not officially supported with click-to-run versions of Microsoft Word, and we cannot offer support for any issues experienced using these versions."
