MSU doesn't have Book?

1. Be sure to check the Online Catalog to make sure MSU does not have the book that you want.

2. If we don't have it in print or electronically, borrow it from another library using our Interlibrary Loan service.

Tips on Finding Books

To find books, first try the MSU Libraries' Online Catalog.

Once you are in the catalog, two types of searches, the "SUBJECT" and "KEYWORD", will help locate books about topic. You can also use the Advanced Search to do topic searches. But if you know the author, title, subject or journal title, try the Browse Search.

The Keyword Search

Use this search when you begin your research. You will be able to focus your search once you find a book you are looking for. Just click on Catalog view and scroll until you see the Subjects listed at the bottom.
The Subject Search
Use this search when looking for books about a particular topic once you have found a subject term that targets what you are searching.

To limit your search to just the MSU Libraries or a specific library, use the drop down menu to choose the library. If you are looking for a book to check out, try limiting your search to the Circulating Collection under location in the Advanced Search.

If you don't find what you need, try WorldCat.:

WorldCat
Provides access to the catalog records of libraries throughout the world. Books found on WorldCat that are not owned by the MSU Libraries can be obtained via InterLibrary Loan.
