School of Architecture Book of the Semester Spring 2022

The School of Architecture continues the Book of the Semester with Barbara Wilson’s book Resilience for all: striving for equity through community-driven design for Spring 2022.

Wilson’s book Resilience for all: striving for equity through community-driven design on “social justice, looks at structural racism and classicism and how people of color are more likely to live in environments with poor air quality, in close proximity to toxic waste, and in locations more vulnerable to climate change and extreme weather events.  The author explores equitable, positive change through community-driven design looks like in four communities--East Biloxi, Mississippi; the Lower East Side of Manhattan; the Denby neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan; and the Cully neighborhood in Portland, Oregon.   The case studies provide insight and how they can be applied to other communities facing the same issues.”

The Bob and Kathy Luke Library has several copies of the book to check out.
