Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising (ATM)
This guide provides an introduction to resources related to the areas of apparel, textiles, merchandising, product development, entrepreneurship, social responsible apparel production, and greentailing business practices. This interdisciplinary area of study encompasses the fashion and textile industries; apparel design; historic costume; ethnic dress; cross-cultural design, merchandising, and marketing; visual merchandising/store display; computer-aided design; consumer behavior; product knowledge; and business principles. Users are encouraged to consult other research guides in these areas. This guide includes a selective introduction to databases, web resources and books related to this topic.
New Open Access Journal
Faculty in MSU’s School of Human Sciences recently launched a journal to promote academic research and outreach in human sciences and Extension topics. The Journal of Human Sciences and Extension is a peer-reviewed publication with articles about human development; family studies; agricultural education; leadership development; Extension; health and wellness; apparel, textiles and merchandising; agricultural economics; nutrition and dietetics; family resource management; and program planning and evaluation. The open-access journal is available online and will be published three times a year at http://www.jhseonline.com.
