General Searching

Doing research? Start from some general search tools below:

Library Catalog

  • Searches the collections of the MSU Libraries as well as other libraries in the area.
  • Useful for finding books/ebooks that provide a good overview of your research topic.

Journal Article Databases

  • Search for peer reviewed journal articles, professional trade magazine articles, conference papers, and newspapers.
  • These databases include content from many subject fields.

  • Search for scholarly journals articles, conference papers, theses/dissertations, government publications, and other materials.
  • Access Google Scholar from the library's website to find full-text articles that the library has paid for.
